Agent Sky Features: What Our Bluesky Growth Tool Actually Does
I get asked some version of "okay, but what does it actually do?" often enough that it deserves its own page. So here it is: every feature in Agent Sky, explained honestly, with no marketing fog.
The short version: Agent Sky finds people on Bluesky who are likely to care about what you post, follows them at a safe, human-looking pace, follows back the people who find you first, and cleans up after itself. You set it up once and check in when you feel like it.
Here's the long version.
Similarity AI Targeting
This is the brain of the whole thing. Instead of following random accounts and hoping, Agent Sky uses AI embeddings to understand what your ideal follower looks like.
- You pick source accounts — a handful of profiles that represent your people (peers, role models, communities you belong to). Agent Sky mines their followers and following lists for candidates. You can also pull candidates from search queries.
- The AI scores every candidate against your ideal profiles using semantic similarity. Bios that genuinely match your world score high; spam, empty profiles, and off-topic accounts score low.
- You control the bar. A similarity threshold slider decides how picky the matching is, and negative keywords let you filter out topics you want nothing to do with.
If you want the full nerdy explanation, I wrote one: how Similarity AI suggestions work.
Automatic Following — at a Safe Pace
Once the AI has a queue of good candidates, Agent Sky follows them for you. The important part isn't the following — it's the pacing.
- Five activity levels, from Cautious (10–20 actions a day with long breaks) up to Maximum (200–300 a day). You pick how aggressive to be.
- Randomized timing. Actions happen with natural, jittered delays — not a metronome firing every 30 seconds. It looks like a person, because the pattern is built to behave like one.
- Rate-limit aware. Bluesky allows 5,000 action points per hour and 35,000 per day, and Agent Sky stays comfortably under them. (Curious about the actual numbers? See Bluesky follow limits explained.)
And yes — automation is officially permitted on Bluesky. The platform publishes bot tutorials in its own docs. What's prohibited is fake engagement and spam, which is exactly what the targeting above is designed to avoid. More on that in are bots allowed on Bluesky?
Follow-Back Automation (New)
Our newest feature. When someone follows you first, Agent Sky can now automatically follow them back — in real time, as the follow happens.
Why this matters: following back your organic followers is one of the easiest goodwill wins on Bluesky, and it's also the first thing that falls through the cracks when your account starts growing. Agent Sky watches for new followers around the clock and handles it, with the same natural pacing as everything else.
It's a simple toggle in your account settings. Turn it on, forget about it.
Smart Unfollowing — With a Follow-Back Check
Following people who never follow back bloats your following count forever. Agent Sky cleans this up the right way:
- Configurable timeout. Give people a window (3 days by default, adjustable) to follow you back.
- Verify before unfollow. Right before unfollowing anyone, Agent Sky re-checks whether they followed you back in the meantime. If they did — even five minutes ago — they're safe. You never unfollow an actual follower by accident.
This is the part most DIY approaches get wrong, and I've written about how to unfollow people who don't follow back without nuking your real connections.
Welcome Messages
First impressions count. When someone new follows you, Agent Sky can send them a templated welcome DM — with their name, handle, or bio details filled in automatically, and a randomized delay so it doesn't land the exact second they hit follow.
A good welcome message turns a silent follow into an actual conversation. A bad one feels like a vending machine, so write yours like a human (and keep it short).
Scheduling and Quiet Hours
Real people sleep. Your automation should too.
- Active hours: set a daily window for activity — say, 8am to 10pm.
- Days of the week: weekends off, if you want.
- Your timezone, so "8am" means your 8am.
Combined with the activity levels and randomized delays, your account's behavior follows a daily rhythm instead of running flat-out around the clock.
Growth Tracking
Agent Sky records your follower count daily and logs every action it takes — every follow, follow-back, unfollow, and welcome message — so you can see exactly what it did and how your audience is trending over time. No black box: the activity log shows you the receipts.
Multiple Accounts
Run a personal account and a project account? A whole portfolio? Agent Sky supports up to 10 Bluesky accounts under one login, each with its own sources, settings, schedule, and pace.

Quick FAQ
Does Agent Sky need my Bluesky password? You connect through Bluesky's secure authentication flow — Agent Sky never asks you to hand over your main password, and you can revoke access from Bluesky at any time.
Will using Agent Sky get me banned? Automation is officially allowed on Bluesky; spam and fake engagement are not. Agent Sky is built around that line: real targeting, human-paced actions, and limits well under Bluesky's published rate caps.
What's the difference between Follow and Follow-Back? Follow goes out and connects with new people the AI found for you. Follow-Back responds to people who found you first and follows them in return. Most accounts run both.
Can I control how fast it goes? Completely. Five activity levels, custom active hours, days of the week, and your timezone. Start cautious, speed up when you're comfortable.
